Blood 'n' Suds

If you're in the vicinity of Toronto this Sunday, head to the classic coin car wash at College and Landsdowne between 12 and 6 pm. Proceeds go to the permit costs for this year's zombie walk.

Put the walking dead to good use and turn them into the washing dead!

The Magic of Shining Light

Remember the Lite Brite toy you had as a kid? It looks like artist Valentin Ruhry took it to the next logical level, making a giant sign out of switches that light up:

You want to play with it, don't you? You can check it out at the Austrian Cultural Forum of New York until September 5. Original story found here.

Batman Burlesque

In Toronto? Always thought Penguin could be sexy if he just worked it? Then you might want to check out the Batman Burlesque show this Saturday (4 June) at Toronto Underground Cinema (186 Spadina Ave). Just when you thought things couldn't get any weirder...

Quentin vs Coen

What kind of mad genius would put together an art show featuring tributes to Quentin Tarantino and the Coen Brothers? The kind of mad genius that's too damn rare in this world. If this is your kind of mashup (and how could it not be?) you can check out the show at the Bold Hype Gallery in NYC, April 7-9. More info here.

A small sampling of what you'll see at the show...

Kill Bill, "The Swan Song of Oren-Ishii" by Tim Doyle

Raising Arizona, "Leonard the Destroyer" by Matt Leunig

Reservoir Dogs Zombie Style, "Bloody Gore Dogs" by Rezatron

Battle of the Eye Patches: True Grit meets Kill Bill (by Steve Seeley)

(Psst: if you can't make it to the show you can buy prints here.)
